Exports Hit Historic Milestone in 2025: Leading Global Market with Strength

In 2025, China's commercial vehicle exports achieved a landmark breakthrough, with annual export volume exceeding 1 million units for the first time and firmly securing the global No.1 position. This remarkable achievement not only signifies the upgrading of China's commercial vehicle industry but also marks that Chinese commercial vehicles, including trucks, have become a core force in the global automotive export market, winning wide recognition with superior quality, advanced technology and competitive advantages.

Top enterprises take the lead in driving export growth, with Sinotruk (China National Heavy Duty Truck Group) and Foton Motor leading the industry. Sinotruk topped the sector with 170,000 export units, while BAIC Foton followed closely with 165,000 units. Together, the two giants accounted for 31.6% of China's total commercial vehicle exports, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM, 2026). Leveraging years of technical accumulation and obvious scale effects, these leading enterprises have built strong brand awareness in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. Their trucks and commercial vehicle products are widely used in logistics, construction and other key fields, becoming a reliable choice for global customers.

The acceleration of localized production base expansion has become a key driving force for the sustainable growth of China's commercial vehicle exports. By the end of 2025, Chinese commercial vehicle enterprises had established localized production bases in 22 countries around the world, forming a global manufacturing and supply network. Among them, Foton Motor's overseas factories cover core markets such as Russia and Southeast Asia, providing timely supply and customized products for local customers. Sinotruk's KD (Knock-Down) factories in Africa have achieved a production capacity of over 50,000 units per year, effectively reducing production and transportation costs while avoiding trade barriers. Localized production not only enhances the market adaptability of Chinese commercial vehicles but also promotes the deep integration of Chinese brands with local markets, laying a solid foundation for long-term development.

The rapid rise ofnew-power enterprises has injected fresh vitality into China's commercial vehicle export market, creating a diversified competition pattern. Chery Commercial Vehicle achieved an astonishing export growth rate of 242%, jumping from the 15th place in the industry to the top 10. SAIC Maxus has become the No.1 exporter of light buses in China, and its electric pickup truck T90EV has successfully entered high-end markets such as Europe and Australia, breaking the monopoly of traditional international brands in the segment market. These new-power enterprises rely on differentiated product strategies, focusing on new energy commercial vehicles and niche market segments, and have achieved rapid breakthroughs with flexible market responses and innovative product designs. Their outstanding performance fully demonstrates the strong innovation capability and market competitiveness of China's commercial vehicle industry.

Against the backdrop of accelerating global green logistics transformation and continuous release of infrastructure demand in emerging markets, China's commercial vehicle exports are shifting from scale expansion to value enhancement. As the world's largest producer and exporter of medium and heavy commercial vehicles, China has obvious advantages in the complete industrial chain, covering core components such as engines, gearboxes and brake systems. In the future, Chinese commercial vehicle enterprises will continue to rely on technological innovation capabilities, deepen existing markets in Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America, and strive to break through high-end market barriers in Europe and North America.

Meanwhile, improving the global service ecosystem, including after-sales service networks and spare parts supply systems, will become a key focus for China's commercial vehicles to consolidate their global leading position and realize high-quality overseas development. Whether it is heavy-duty trucks, light commercial vehicles or new energy commercial vehicles, Chinese products are committed to providing global customers with more efficient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective transportation solutions.

2025 is a milestone year for China's commercial vehicle exports, and it is also a new starting point for high-quality development. With the joint efforts of leading enterprises and new forces, China's commercial vehicles will surely shine more brightly in the global market, making greater contributions to promoting the globalization of China's automotive industry and driving the upgrading of the global commercial vehicle industry.
